 Rising Voices is a collection of the prose and poems of Indian students. They are an inspirational example to any young person and cover topics in the areas of heritage, family, identity, ritual and ceremony and harsh reality.

I am a sun poet
sitting on a ray
of streaming light
writing
gold poems.
Quickly, my poems
shine down on the earth
and hide
in grains of
burning sand.
Alan continues as a rain poet, a sea poet, a building poet and a space poet in golden words that fall like gems from the mouth of a child.
