 Paul Theroux is one of my favorite authors. I read a copy of this book that I borrowed from one of my friends who had worked in Australia for a year as an exchange teacher. She asked me to return it as soon as I was done because she wanted to read it again.
Theroux gives you the feeling of being there! He travels about the Pacific visiting a total of 51 islands, talking to the people, watching, eating the local foods, hiking and paddling about. There is always a sense of adventure and discovery.
Whether you actually travel or just enjoy the armchair variety, you will find travel adventure in this book as though you were there yourself.
